Every time we enter the ravine it is different and so are we. And so the ravine enters us. Something raided the geese nest. A mash of feathers and silence. Egg shells. Even the frogs are numb. The mother  so calm on the water. The following day, gone. I don't want self respect. I want to be ruined by chance.

I stopped dreaming. Sometimes I am worth less than the cats. That's ok. I'd like to buy back some of that time. Maybe some snacks. No ice left in the icebox.
